Taco Truck at a Baptism?

Dearest friends and family,

What a cool week! We had zone conference and Elder Klebingat of the 70 visited our mission. It was a little bit like trying to drink out of a firehouse. He talked a lot about the spirit world, about strategies to memorize scriptures, how to have a more effective study, and about how we can be even more obedient in the little details--so basically he covered everything. He left us with 12 invitations of things to work on and improve, so between that and General Conference I have a lot of work to do.

This week when we were out tracting I saw a car pull up in front of a house. I had a brief thought that maybe we should stop, but since we were on the way to another appointment I ignored it. Bad idea. We turned the corner, and I knew that we had to return to that house. We did (after a short detour where Sister Jensen turned left instead of right oops), and when we knocked the door was almost immediately answered by a young single adult who is now being taught! His name is Alex. The next day we were out driving and it happened again- I saw a house and I knew that we needed to stop. We did (although I couldn't believe it was happening again), and as we got out of the car we saw a lady out hanging up Halloween decorations. It was Amy, another YSA, and she is also now being taught! The Lord has been guiding our steps this week, and I am so grateful. Finding young people between the ages of 18 and 30 who are single and prepared to hear the message of the restoration of the gospel doesn't "just happen" by knocking on random doors or stopping on random streets. I'm grateful for God's hand in the work! It would be impossible without Him.

So Jose...We found a baptismal record for him! Turns out he was baptized almost 20 years ago (which he didn't remember), and after doing some quick math we realized that he is also over 30...oh Jose! We passed him off to the Elders. He couldn't be more happy to be found, and to start coming back to church.

Cyril update! We had another lesson with Omar's friend Cyril and discussed baptism again. He said that he wants to be baptized because he wants to come closer to Jesus Christ. He loves what we teach, so getting to church is the biggest obstacle for him because he works on Sundays. We are praying and fasting for him to find a way to make it to church!

We also taught Jacob this week (the guy with 3 jobs), and he also wants to be baptized! When we offered the day of November 2nd, he looked at us and said, "let's make it happen!" We taught him the plan of salvation yesterday with some members of the branch, and it went really well. He also needs to quit his job (well one of them at least) so that he can come to church! He runs a taco truck as one of his jobs, and so he asked if he can just pull the truck into the church parking lot and we can all have tacos after the baptism. We said that was a genius idea.

Have a good week everyone! :)
Love,
S. Jensen

Lots of zone service! Laying sod, weeding, etc.
