This week our district had 2 baptisms on Friday! They were for Xander (a little 9 year old boy) and Susan (a 90-something year old woman) and it was so sweet. We were able to bring Jacob, and the spirit was strong. I know that Heavenly Father is so proud of both of them, despite their difference in age, for making the decision to choose Him. And this past weekend was just part one of the district baptisms. On Saturday we helped run the wedding of Brenton and Angie (18 and 19 years old) who were married so that they can be baptized with Jacob next weekend! We all did a toast with water out of champagne glasses (the bride's mom was not super happy about that). We ate some delicious Mexican soup called Bazole, and talked with lots of guests. We couldn't be more excited, but there is a lot to do between now and Saturday! Please continue to pray for Jacob (and Brenton and Angie)!
Jacob update: He came to church on Sunday! He even brought his cousin. He is still doing well. He has talked to his family and his mom will be coming to the baptism. He also came to the missionary fireside yesterday evening. It was at the McCullough's, who have a mobile home right by the Snake River. Aside from Jacob, we also had Omar and three of his friends (Aurelio, Franko, and Cyrill) there, as well as Edgar and a handful of other members. It was incredible. Rick (who taught us to paint a while back) was able to Skype in for a moment, and said he was baptized yesterday morning! I could feel the spirit as he testified of how the gospel has changed his life, which was very different from speaking to him before.
Other things that happened this week:
-I went on exchanges with Sister Boudreaux (like Woodrow but "Boo" at the start) who has been out for about 4 weeks. It was super fun! We found a cool lady named Patt. A dog also peed all over our shoes and socks while we were talking to someone...I missed my Pasco YSA which makes me scared for transfers next week.
-We visited an alpaca farm!
When I first flew in to the tri-cities, I remember looking around and wondering how I could ever learn to love this tumbleweed covered desert. But somehow I do! I love the people, and the missionaries, and I don't want to leave beautiful Pasco. I'm so grateful that Heavenly Father knew better than me and sent me to Eastern Washington.
Love,
Sister Jensen
Yes. We can play chess and checkers but didn't have a board so I made one for us.
